Our publishing labels released new titles twice a year, and they were marketed with a direct mail piece containing sheet music samples with recordings on CD. This catalog could be 64 or more pages with 2 CDs, so keeping the information for so many pieces straight and presented in a logical form for shoppers was no easy task. Though it may seem a dated marketing method, customers would save these books and make their own “libraries” for future reference even though previews and recordings are available online.
